One of my shoots this week was to take this photo of Laurel's grandmother at 4 months old in 1910 and try to get a similar photo of Laurel.


I haven't sorted through all of them, but this is one of the possibilities.

Bar Camp Texas

This weekend D. and I traveled to Creative Space in Bryan, Texas for Barcamp. Now I feel all fun and motivated. And a little more than impressed with Markup Ninjas.


I can't explain my fascination with cows but it's there and it made me really happy to shoot these guys. They like me. Because I don't eat them.


I took so few pictures of the event. Good thing Michael Cummings took a bunch. In fact, that's me on his screen right there. It's funny. Because I'm short. In case you didn't notice.

But, he's feeling undermotivated these days and if he doesn't get Motivated, like right this second, he won't finish the stuff to make the deadline and this very sweet [a pun you'll understand later] Idea won't happen and THEN I'M GONNA BE PISSED.

I shot the cover for Tarek's new book last year and it's finally out and looks fantastic! I haven't gotten to read it, but I think Tarek has it packed with a lot of valuable information. Remember him from NBC's Apprentice? He also has a clothing line, Lionheart Apparel, that I shot last year.

Mr. Smith stays up late

Last night at 11:00 I was shooting for Renee Rouleau on my kitchen table while Penn was not sleeping and "catching a ghost." (Despite being put to bed at a reasonable hour.)


He came downstairs and I took the product off of the table and popped the kid on.

After watching Joey Lawrence speak at the PPA I'm inspired to experiment more with color correction.

Friday Night Fun

Looks like I will not be there because babysitters are very very very hard to find and I am very very very sad about missing this. :(

I could also use a sitter for tomorrow 3-10 if anyone is interested.

Missing: One Sexy Sady

I've had Sexy Sady since my first year in college. (She's old.) But she went outside last week and I haven't seen her since. She's not wearing a collar and looks like every other cat you've ever seen.


But we've been living together for the past ten years, so...yeah. I miss her. If you see my cat in the Lakewood area, holla.

Sundays are for perfect

Today is perfect enough for me to tell it to the internets. Sunday, sleeping in, big breakfast, warm weather, kid and canine fun at the park, laundry done, p trap emptied of some stinky something resembling a small wet rodent, random tasks and duties getting done and other domestic plans for the day. It is good. Good, I tell you.

In the meantime I am working on stuff I shot for Yield Apparel.
