mr. smith goes to new orleans

after a day of cnn benji couldn't take it anymore. he called up willing friends and they took off to new orleans yesterday. the plan rose and fell as there were only a number of hours to put together supplies of hd tapes (resulting in trips to every best buy and best buy-type store in the city to purchase the few high def tapes on the shelf), food, water, gas cans, a reliable vehicle, etc.

where to stay changed and changed again. warnings of civilians not being allowed into the city was of little deterrent. they decided they would at least shoot the surrounding cities and shelters.

however, the trip took off with a bang. there is promised funding to reimburse benji (who is currently sponsoring the long trip). a direct contact with one of the engineers working on the levy promises access not only to the city, but to the levy itself.

i spoke with benji today. they're in baton rouge. they have press passes from lsu to shoot those staying there and are securing they're way to new orleans, fingers crossed they get the same treatment another crew got; helicoptered into the city.

i expect nothing less than amazing to come back from this group and on this equipment. many plans are in the works of which i won't share the details just yet. think exciting. think careers.
